The World Racing League continues to grow its reputation for putting on a professional-grade racing experience, both for participants and for fans. The series’ first ticketed spectator event will take place October 28-30 at Sebring International Raceway.
“WRL has been growing and gaining traction and interest from both the community of drivers and teams, but also from fans of endurance racing,” the series said in a press release. “We’ve been inundated with unsolicited requests for spectator access over the last year with Sebring being one of the biggest points of interest for us during the 2021 season.”
Putting on a ticketed spectator event is part of a bigger plan for the World Racing League.
“We want to encourage and support those who have interests in racing to go out and get involved,” they said. “The broadcast was a great first step in sharing the WRL experience with the masses, and we believe spectator access is the next step in that journey. For us this is a win for spectators, win for the competitors, and a win for WRL.”
Fans will be restricted to midway/spectator areas and not allowed into the paddock during the event, with some exceptions for coordinated, fan-oriented activities.
WRL said they plan to do more ticketed spectator races at select tracks in 2023.
