In a sea of Porsches and Mustangs, I'd think this would stand out at a vintage race event.
(Well, it would stand out to me, at least.)

A vintage race car with an illustrious past doesn’t always require six figures. Take, for example, this 1981 Dodge Charger.
The Charger, according to the seller, was prepared by a Shelby American engineer specifically for SCCA’s Improved Touring B road racing class, racing for several years within the San Francisco region.
Powered by a 2.2-liter engine–billed as original–the Dodge racer is noted to have recently been fitted with a rebuilt Weber carb as well as a new radiator, rear wheel cylinders and transport tires.
Accompanying the car are “tons of extras” like a new 2.2-liter long block, complete rotating assembly, and several spare parts including wheels, fuel pumps, filters, bearings and camshafts.
Find this 81 Shelby Inspired Charger 2.2 SCCA ITB listed for sale on Racing Junk for $6500.

However, I recall 1983 as the first year for the Shebly Charger as 1983
The FWD Charger was new to production in 1982.
Or has jet lag permanently set in?
Neat Car Either way

So it sounds like this a late-1981 chassis updated with 1983 bodywork?
