Thanks for throwing this up there Ed. I hope a GRMer buys it and it stays in the community.
After being handed a $57,000 estimate to replace the engine in his Mercedes-Benz R63 AMG, forum member Mazdeuce dove headlong into the automotive wizardry of this unicorn and emerged victorious after more than 100 forum pages full of blood, sweat and joy.
Today Mazdeuce is listing the Mercedes for sale to make room for the next project. The asking price? $35,000. Seems reasonable for piece of GRM internet history.
Thinking on it a bit, I'm probably fortunate that I have almost no need for a vehicle like this. Combine that with a lack of substantially expendable funds, and I'm gonna have to pass. The part of me that loves sleepers, combined with loving the idea of seeing the Grosh in person? That part of me would really love this thing...
Good luck with the sale Seth, and thanks for sharing the adventures!

I'm glad you enjoyed reading along, it's been one hell of an adventure.
I just got off the phone with my wife and apparently a guy was just flipping through autotrader and saw the ad and decided to call. He had no idea what it was and was asking how it was different than an R350. I think my wife talked him out of it.
In reply to Patrick :
It's less scammy when trying to sell cars for more than Challenge money. Ain't nobody got time to talk to crack heads about possible trades for their uncles bass boat.
