Red flags are called red flags for a reason, as they often signal that feeling when your gut hints that something isn’t right and that you should stop doing whatever it is that you are doing. Apparently, some people don’t get those feelings, as forum user papamilad ignored two red flags when acquiring a 132,000-mile 1994 Lexus LS400.
Described as a “financial mistake” painted “big baller gold,” the $300 Lexus is destined for the most prestigious racing event to ever grace this planet, our annual $2000 Challenge.
The original plan for this Lexus was to fix up enough to flip it, but papamilad made the mistake of taking it to a local rallycross event and fell in love with the car.
The new plan, then was simple: swap in a manual transmission, drop it as low as it can go, and then see how well it does at the $2000 Challenge. Upon writing this, papamilad seem to have accomplished those first two tasks, leaving the $2000 Challenge as the last item on the list to complete.
How will this ’94 LS400 fair at our $2000 Challenge? Stay up to date with the build thread over on the Builds and Project Cars Forum.
