Is the stock column a non collapsible one?

Another place to save weight in a race car? How about the steering column?
Ididit makes a lightweight, custom steering column for an early Mustang like our vintage racer project. This Pro-Lite column lists for $579 but can be found for $530 at Summit Racing.
At six pounds, this column weighs less than half the stock unit. It’s also collapsible for added safety.
While the column comes fully wired for horn and turn signals, we removed these features as we would not need them–more weight saved.
The ididit column perfectly replaced our stock piece, with the dashboard mounts lining up to the factory holes. The only trick involved getting the column around our roll cage’s lower bar. The column also perfectly mated to our Borgeson power steering box.
We needed to add a quick-release wheel to this setup, so we also ordered one of ididit’s QRSH 6 Bolt ¾ Smooth Kits. It retails for $143.
This quick-release hub kit features an easy-to-use adaptor–no welding required–that bolts to the column. Then we could attach our MPI steering wheel.
Installation of the whole deal went smoothly, and we’re getting closer to having a race car.
Who are you guys using to set up your suspension...is it local to your Daytona location? What specs are you doing?

We do a lot of our own suspension setup, but for alignments we use Alignment Shop in Ormond Beach, Florida. Tell Geoff that we sent you.
