Wow! That looked like fun. Was that a down shift to 1st gear at 0.30?
Getting ready for our runs.
Speeding through the finish.
We competed at the Solo National Tour this past weekend in Cecil, Georgia. The first day was marred by cold weather, cold tires and a cold driver—we finished several seconds back from where we thought we could and .2 back from the leader.
We came back strong on the second day with a 2-second lead on our first run. Our second run was 2 seconds faster, but we coned it. While we were in the lead, we thought we could clean up our act and challenge for the fastest time of the day.
Unfortunately, our engine apparently had some oiling issues. We spun a rod bearing on our third run. Thankfully, used motorcycle engines are quite cheap. We’re looking for a similar 2006-‘07 ZX10R long block now.
Here’s a video of our dirty second run. This was filmed using a GoPro HD camera. The native files are beautiful and can be displayed on a high-definition TV without issue.:
Watching back-to-back with your 2009 run was quite eye-opening; both you and the car have gotten way, way faster!
