Will you need stiffer springs to prevent bottoming ?
We're still searching for the perfect aero solution on the LeGrand, but we're getting closer.
The carbon wing looks a little cheesy with small end plates. That'll change soon enough.
We're just going to use the elements themselves in the construction of our new rear wing array.
Our LeGrand project just returned from competition at Nationals, but we aren’t letting it take much of a breather: We’re collecting parts to redo its wings. Our goal is to get the car back together in time for the Performance Racing Industry trade show—our LeGrand will be featured in the GRM booth at the PRI show, and we want it looking its best.
We found another inexpensive carbon fiber wing on eBay with the appropriate 55-inch width. It has two elements, one that’s 5.5 inches and another that’s 3 inches. We’ll be using these as secondary and tertiary portions of a totally new array, complete with carbon fiber end plates.
Our goal is to add downforce and decrease weight as we do away with the car’s original aluminum main element and aluminum end plates.
Probably not. It's already got considerably stiffer springs than it started out with---and we're not talking dramatic changes in downforce over what we have...just weight and adjustability improvements. .
With the amount of body roll displayed in the first picture, do you think that your roll stiffness is adequate?
