The bottle itself is quite compact, making it an easy fit in our little sports racer.

The pull cable is simple to attach to the cylinder.

Routing and mounting the plastic lines is straightforward. Here's our dash area with one nozzle pointing toward the fuel cell and one toward the driver.

The tank is mounted behind the driver on the left side of the car, our "light" corner.

We have another nozzle pointing at the exhaust area of the engine compartment.

The fourth nozzle is pointing at the carburetors, another possible danger area.

The Lifeline system is probably the easiest one we’ve ever installed.

Even though we’re trying to reduce our LeGrand’s weight in any way we can, we decided that a fire system was worth having. However, the car’s system was outdated and heavier than it needed to be. We replaced the entire fire system with a new, lighter and more compact Lifeline Zero360 unit.

The replacement unit lost us only three or four pounds, but its compactness made it easier to position the tank behind the driver. We mounted it toward the left rear of the car, which should help out our corner-weighting values.

The Lifeline system is probably the easiest one we’ve ever installed. The lines are made of a special Eaton-sourced plastic and feature push-on connectors and T-junctions. That means we don’t need to flare aluminum lines like we would with a more traditional onboard fire system.

Hey Per. Really nice. I like the activation system on the bottle, seems simple. I've thought about ditching my onboard system several times but I just can't justify the security it provides vs. the weight I'd lose.

I like the push fit lines. The plastic will take the heat of those headers? The heat of a fire? Pretty impressive.
