Is that a 12 or 13 tooth front sprocket? Did that come with the engine? Small for a bike but good for Solo!
Who did your oil pan?
The pan has new baffling for oil control.
The bottom of the pan has been cut off and reworked to reduce depth but increase capacity.
There's plenty of room in the LeGrand's engine compartment.
We did have to cut out a few frame rails. They will be replaced with new ones that are farther apart.
The rear mounts are simple tabs welded to the rear bulkhead.
We welded up a simple forward stay that bolts to one of the other frame rails under the engine.
We’ve really made some progress on the ZX10R engine installation over the past week. We received our cut-down oil pan, which has added baffles for oil control and will allow us to lower the engine quite a bit in the chassis. Once we installed the pan, we hoisted the engine into the car to see how everything fit.
The first thing we noticed: A few frame rails that were added by a previous owner needed to be cut out. We’ll be adding similar bars after the engine is installed, but they’ll be placed farther apart to accommodate the engine.
The rear of the engine and transmission will be bolted to simple tabs welded to the rear bulkhead. Meanwhile, other braces will bolt to the forward frame rails under the engine.
We’ve still got plenty of fabrication to work through—including building a header from scratch.
