Call us odd ducks, but we love watching parts being machined by the professionals at Fast Forward Racing Components. The vertical millwork has started on our LeGrand uprights, and the pieces are progressing nicely. Once these are completed with new hubs and bearings, we’ll have to measure the distance from flange to flange so that we can have new axles fabricated.

Nope, the design parameters were to replicate the original designs by Red LeGrand which were cast magnesium and enlarge the center opening to allow for a Volkswagen Rabbit/GTi wheel bearing. suspension mounting points and axle center were determined/fixed by what we already had. The hope is that this will give LeGrand and other sports racers an affordable/strong upright to replace the dwindling supply of magnesium originals.
Affordable? I'd assume they aren't going to be machined billet then? And I wouldn't suppose they'd be locost friendly?

The prototype will be here shortly. They're going to run somewhere in the 4-500 range.
