Is that a hill in Florida? Isn't the high point in FL a landfill?
Car looks good Per. Good luck at Dixie.
The course was tight, but the car pulled out of the corners with ease.
We got FTD for the event—our first in this project car.
This past weekend, we brought our newly repowered LeGrand to a Martin Sports Car Club autocross to make sure that everything was hunky-dory. We wanted to take care of any small issues before dragging it several hundred miles to an upcoming National Tour event in Georgia.
The first issue we encountered: The PCV breather was sucking oil into the intake. We usually run the oil level a little high to keep the engine from starving during cornering, but apparently we had it too high for this application. We switched out the breather tube so that it runs to a catch tank instead of the airbox. Problem solved.
We also noticed that the car had a hard time putting down power. This was solved by swapping to wider 22.5x10x13 tires instead of the 22x9x13 rubber we were using. The added footprint should help control the ZX10R engine’s power.
Finally, we realized that we needed to rebleed the brakes. We were getting very little action from the rear caliper and the pedal was soft. We took care of this last night.
With all of these problems addressed, we’re ready to load up the car and take it to Georgia. Wish us luck!
