It was great having you out!!!!
One nice thing about using a CRX for a track car: It will gladly swallow a set of tires plus everything else needed.
Before shoving off, we replaced the aged, original brake lines with a braided set from Goodridge. These are available through The Tire Rack. You want a set.
Every NASA official we met was polite and friendly.
Well, our recent outing with the NASA Florida Region at Palm Beach International Raceway went okay. Let’s just say that there were high points and low points.
High point: The host hotel, the Jupiter Waterfront Hotel, was excellent. We’d gladly spend a non-race weekend there.
Low Point: We didn’t get to enjoy the Jupiter Waterfront Hotel’s waterfront view.
High Point: Every NASA official we met was polite and friendly. Tech went smoothly.
Low Point: While unloading our gear, another participant started yelling that we were going to block in all of the tow rigs at the end of the day. Dude, our car has wheels; it can easily be moved out of the way.
High Point: Said gentleman was wearing a T-shirt featuring our old BMW 318ti project car.
Low Point: Our master cylinder went soft during the first session. We had our Goodridge lines installed earlier in the week, and we suspect that the two events are related. We pitted early and spent the rest of the day talking with the officials and drivers. We’ll be back out soon.
