Our last event with the Civic was May 8, when we ran with the Central Florida Region SCCA at the DeLand Airport site. It’s your basic down-and-back affair, but the speeds tend to be on the high side. We started the day with our standard 35 psi front/37 psi rear setup. They say loose is fast, but that was a bit too much, as we totally looped it while entering a slalom. We’re still running the stock springs along with no rear anti-roll bar, so we’re thinking too much weight transfer is the problem. In theory, that will all be changed soon.
Once we got our head on straight and took 2 psi out of the rear tires, we finished third in the six-car class. This may be our first finish in the top half of the field with the car. Just wait until we get our Camaro. (Or at least get our Civic all set up.)
