Then he added a "sir" to that sentence.
Hey, for a brief minute in time, we were cool.
Last night we took our Garage Rescue Miata to Ace Café Orlando for Orlando Roadsters’ monthly meet. It’s an evening get-together for the local roadster scene–mostly Miatas plus a few others.
We autocrossed the car the day before with Central Florida SCCA, and not much was needed before heading out to Orlando–basically replace the driver-side floormat and grab some fuel for the trip.
Despite having one of the less radical builds at Ace Cafe, our car still attracted lots of chatter with the crowd appreciating a clean survivor wearing original paint and period-correct mods–which would make sense as most of the work was done some 20 years ago.
I don't really like being called sir, and it comes with the current job. It also happens far often outside my job than I would like to admit. The sad part is that I'm still a few years to young to win the old man award at the challenge (but I'm getting all too close).

I can't say I can totally relate, but something about getting called "Mr. Wood" doesn't sit well with me.
At any rate, as someone who has gone to this monthly meet, it's good to see so much variation with the kind of builds people bring.
I admit, it's fun playing the village elder.
I was talking wheels with one guy and mentioned that I had some TE37s back home.
Which ones? he asked.
When I told him OG TE37s, his face lit up. "No way."
