During a recent event, realized something: When we fit Powerflex urethane bushings some 20 years ago, for some reason we missed the outside mounts for the upper-rear control arms.

This was allowing the upper control arms to contact the suspension upright–not a terrific solution.

Powerflex still has a presence in the U.S.–a big one, in fact–so we simply ordered the ones that, for whatever reason, we missed back in the day.

As before, we went with Powerflex’s purple bushings–about 30% percent stiffer than stock. (And, after 20 years, the Powerflex bushings that we had already fit still look good and properly articulate.)

As Jesse Spiker at Spiker Motorsports showed us, an air chisel will quickly, easily push out the old ones.

The Powerflex bushings use a two-piece design–three pieces if you count the stainless-steel insert–so fitting them takes just a few seconds.

Afterward, we again had Alignment Shop align the chassis.
