Awesome! Exact same thing's been happening on my 98. Time to fix...
We love changes that make immediate improvements. New pads and machined rotors did the job here.
Our 2000 Subaru has taken over some daily driver duties. We did encounter one problem—the brake pedal and steering wheel were pulsating pretty severely during even mild slowdowns—but it has since been fixed. Here’s how we did it.
We took the front brakes apart and turned the rotors down, as there was plenty of meat left on them. Next, we replaced the no-name pads with a set of PBR Ultimate ceramic pads sourced from Primitive Engineering.
The resulting brake performance and feel is much improved. The new pads have plenty of bite for street and rallycross use without being overly grabby.
