Lightweight 3-piece BBS wheels and Hoosier tires cut a tough profile on the MINI
Mike King at the starting line, North course.
Mike King and Tim joined Andrew Cutler and Sho Tagawa of MINI for a shot at Solo II Nationals. When the dust had settled we finished second out of 37 entrants in HS just 3/100ths of second behind a BMW 318. Thus, we now have the fastest stock class MINI in the country. MINIs also took most of the rest of the top ten spots. This weekend it is off to Jekyll Island, Georgia where we hope to put a lock on the Buccaneer Region SCCA season championship in HS.
As soon as we win this championship, we will reconfigure and start additional dyno testing for the less restrictive Street Touring class where we will begin to compete next season.
The car now has over 11,000 miles with no more difficulties. The car was perfectly reliable even with four drivers hammering on it for two days at the National Championships.
