We went to the CFR-West coast practice day at the Brooksville airport. The super grippy concrete was a good warm-up for the upcoming Ft. Myers National Tour and it gave us some indication of how the combination of Koni FSD front shocks and Koni double adjustable rears will work.

With the FSDs on the front and the rear DAs set at 1/2 stiff in rebound and 1/2 stiff in bump, the car felt controllable and had some “action” from the rear-end. That’s pretty amazing for a MINI on high-grip concrete! We were running 47 psi in the front and about 50 psi in the rear, which is a little less rear pressure than we normally run—-it was a little chilly (52 degrees)

We had top index after the third runs, but a well-driven MINI Cooper S snuck by us and we couldn’t improve much on runs 4-7. We had one faster run that was about 1 second faster, but it was marred by a cone. That’s racing!

We’ll be at the Ft. Pierce autocross this upcoming Sunday, the surface there is asphalt and we’ll let you know how this combination works.
