No, not the final cover shoot; call it foreshadowing.
Look for some BMW exposure in the upcoming October issue. For one, the BMW is on the cover. Second, we detail the tuning work we performed on the car. While the aFe intake added a few ponies to the final tally, the ECU work really woke up this Bimmer. We tried two systems—one from Split Second and another from VAC—and they both delivered the goods.
Best bit of news: Despite all of the extra horsepower, the car is still totally benign in daily use. It starts, idles and cruises like a normal 335i. Stomp the gas, however, and it quickly jumps to life.
