Congrats! I love those cars, and I love to see your success in one.
This car looks just as good going around Mid-Ohio as it does Roebling.
Our crew was Brian Vinson. He was very helpful and a ton of fun to hang out with.
What do you get when you put a bunch of very aggressive drivers on track in disposable cars? Contact.
Despite not even getting to sniff the podium, we’d have to qualify our Fiesta’s pro debut in the Pirelli World Challenge B Spec series as a great success. Will no real sorting or testing behind it, and a driver who had never raced at Mid Ohio before (nor had he sat in the car until the Thursday before the race), we managed to run competitive lap times and stay with the field through what is probably the most brutal form of road racing on earth.
Art Director J.G. Pasterjak put the car 16th on the 22-car grid, just .05 seconds off of the Wolverine Bronze Ford fiesta of Chris Capaldi. Capaldi Racing were also serving as our crew for the weekend, so it was especially nice to have such an experienced group of people, and a fully developed car and driver, to compare ourselves to.
In the races, J.G.’s start at 16th resulted in a 17th spot finish. In the second race of the weekend, starting from 17th, he managed to work his way into 15th at the checker, bolstered by a strong start. The car got a few love taps along the way, and did its share of off-road motoring—but it soldiered on remarkably well, none the worse for wear.
