Honestly, we’re almost sad that it’s going to be turned into a race car….
Our 2012 Fiesta isn’t a race car, at least not yet, so over the past few weeks we’ve been using it as a daily driver. This means driving to school, to the store, to grandma’s house, to dinner, to other towns, etc.
So, how do we feel about our little Ford after living with it for a few weeks? Honestly, we’re almost sad that it’s going to be turned into a race car, because it’s a perfect daily driver. It’s comfortable, the pedals are positioned well, the gearbox is pleasant, it handles well (though it’s severely limited by its stock tires at the moment), it carries four people comfortably, it gets nearly 40 miles to the gallon, it can easily swallow IKEA furniture when the rear seats are folded down, and it has a great stereo.
But, even with these positive attributes in mind, every drive gets us more excited about this car’s violent future. It drives like a true driver’s car, and we can’t wait to drive it as a race car, rather than as a cute, practical hatchback.
However, once the Fiesta’s carpet is replaced with traction tape, its interior trim is replaced with metal tube, and its radio replaced with data logging displays, we might just buy another Fiesta for a daily driver. After all, we’ll need something to drive to the track, right?
