After using our Nissan Frontier for a few weeks and putting the bike in the bed for the first time, we have decided that the toolbox is going to get sold.
With all my tools and supplies able to fit under the back seat, we decided there was no need to use up valuable real estate.
Every bit of space matters when you have a 5-foot bed, and the toolbox does not add enough storage or security to make it worth keeping. Instead, we opted for a soft bed cover, like the one on our Honda Ridgeline.
For the topper we decided to go with Tyger Auto as they made the running boards installed by a previous owner. The running boards seemed good quality, and the topper had good Amazon reviews.
Why a soft topper vs. a foldable hard topper? Simple: The soft topper can be folded away to take up almost no space when in use and we won’t be storing anything of high value under there where we need the extra security.
