We recently took the MINI on a pair of road trips, both originating at our Central Florida home: Pinehurst, North Carolina, for their big concours followed by Road Atlanta for our Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty.
Several years ago we borrowed a Cooper S for a road trip. The short wheelbase and equally short tire sidewalls beat us up as the car pitched about. It wasn’t exactly ideal.
We’re finding our John Cooper Works to be a comfortable highway cruiser. Plus there’s enough power for squirting in and out of traffic–when necessary, of course.
