Flywheel

update image

The key to getting a Rover V8 into this chassis is to lower it. Cut off anything that sticks below the bottom of the transmission. This means, shortening or making a shallow oil pan. You’ll also need to use a smaller diameter flywheel, clutch, etc. Custom made this flywheel from scratch. Used a Toyota ring gear and Celica Supra Turbo racing clutch from South Bend Clutch. The smaller diameter nose on the Toyota starter allows you to make an adapter and offset it inboard in the hole for the larger Rover starter. Modified a used Jeep hydraulic throwout bearing to work with the T5 transmission.
