At this point I have approximately $750 invested on the budget. I was able to sell enough stuff off the Buick to completely write it off. Not hard considering I only paid $10 for it. The Fiero cost me $300 and on that end I am down to $125. Selling the BBS style wheels and tires. Intake manifold, exhaust manifolds and the engine harness. I still have the pcm. The trans and halfshafts from the Fiero fit on the Saturn cradle with no problem just have to fabricate some mounts. I also finished rebuilding the 3.8 from the Buick. All I can say about that is what crappy castings once all the sludge had been removed. I did a mild port job on the heads and had to replace one exhaust valve that not only was out of round but in the early stages of being burnt. Fortunately the seat was o.k. Replaced all the gaskets, valvestem seals timing chain and sensor. I even resurfaced the trans flywheel on the brake lathe at the shop. That was a nice $60 savings. Now I have to borrow my neighbors cherry picker so I can remove the engine from the stand and get it ready to put in the cradle.
