using an original frame allows one to register the car as the car which donated the frame so a friend said look at the frame for sale. It was horribly rusted with rust going halfway through the metal. It was unusable for anything more than a pattern. So, after determined its identity as a 1925 chevrolet, I discarded everything but the two frame rails and built a frame inside the original frame (see the first 5 photos)

I visited swapmeets for a year and finally found 4 springs which fit, they were even in passable condition. An 8" ford rear axle and a 56 ford pickup axle were added. Then I measured the radiators that I had and molded a nose [see photo) that I liked. I made crosspieces to support the engine and transmission assembly. and had a driveshaft made up. I made up a workable clutch linkage and am doing brakes today.
