Datsun 510

18

My H Prod 510 This was Saturday morning. Sunday afternoon I hydroplaned into the Armco. Racing in the rain on slicks is an adventure. Okay, a litle more about the car. It’s a 73 with a 1600cc engine. It’s the same car (and owner) that came in last place in the Ultimate Track Car Challenge last year. At that time it was setup for the ITC class in SCCA Racing and putting out 98 hp at the flywheel. In a desire to go faster pluswanting to play with the big boys I transformed the car to fit into the H Production class. Basicly the changes allow for more power, less weight and stickier tires. When the UTCC comes back to the east coast I’ll be ready.

you gotta love the wide slicks on that baby or is it the blanked out headlights that gives it that mean look?

Thanks, I'm looking for some of those round headlight stickers but haven't found them yet.

This takes me back to 2.5L Trans Am goodness from the 70's. After spending several hours with Pete Brock last weekend, I got some really great stories about the BRE experiences from the time. The Dime is truly sublime! :)

Sweet Dastun! I've gone and decided to build my Celica like that. Just something indescribably awesome about a full race prep classic import!
