Rebuild Successful

Finished up the rebuild last week or so. Everything went great and turned right over, after i plugged in the ignitor and charged my battery(oops).

Decided to drive it to school, overeager to get it back on the road. Stalled out on me as i approached the front of the left turn lane. Turned on the hazards and made a phone call to my dad to bring some tools. Someone actually did help me push it into a neighborhood across the street. However i did receive alot more revs and shouts from the local ricer crowd as they pulled out of the campus parking lot. After looking at it for a bit, realized that the engine harness resting on my downpipe was most likely the culprit. Taped up the wires and tried starting it, nothing. I took a quick look over the fuses and didnt see any blown, although it was dark and late. Decided to tackle the problem tomorrow morning and just get it towed home. Went out the next day thinking my timing belt tensioner failed since it randomly stalled on me and i wasn’t getting spark. Before i went to remove the timing cover, i looked back over my fuses to one that could have been blown, but didn’t have the correct fuse to replace it. Pulled one from my Outback and tried starting it. It lives!! Went out to the junkyard and pocketed a few more of those strange green engine fuses and gave the outback its life.

But wait, another hiccup. Took my dad to the local Ford dealer, about 15 minutes away, for the Mustangs first oil change. La la la, everything’s going great until i look down at my water temperature gauge and see it rising fast. Shit! I pulled off the interstate at the first exit i could and popped the hood/turned off engine(the temp. was about 200-210 by the time i got off). Coolant was pouring out of the lower radiator hose. Got the screw driver out of my car and tightened the old worm clamp as much as i could. I liped home with the coolant temps at about 190-200. Refilled it and decided to address a few things. i removed my 1.3bar radiator cap and put the old .9bar cap back on. I also order 1.5” T-bolt clamps from Siliconeintakes.com, 12 bucks for two! ouch. Received them a few days later and chucked the old worm clamp and installed the t-bolt.

So far, so good.
