this shows a hinged deflector in its chin air intake. A wooden dowel supports a deflector and the dowel is placed in upper holes for more air restriction or lower holes for less restriction. This deflector serves a purpose similar to a thermostat. I do not use a thermostat So there is more coolant flow.

It was running hot last summer so I changed to a thicker radiator and added this scoop. The coolant temp plummeted 60 degrees. so I decided to close it down somewhat.
