Adding Custom Diamond Tucked Carbon Fiber Padding

been wanting to do this for some time even on the 2015 Connect. Ford added a few of the thin press boards to small areas of the van for safety reasons to cover access ports that allows technicians to access electrical components from the rear and sides of the van. I’m getting tired of looking at these wooden blanks, so I contacted Fabric Empire searching for diamond tucked carbon fiber material. Just to test the material on a small panel, I ordered 1 yard of the diamond tucked carbon fiber material. The material has bene on the sewing desk down stairs for a few weeks and I haven’t had a chance to get to this as we have other matters to attend to at the moment. However I did remove at least one of the smaller panels so I’ll be ready to add the material to the wooden panel. One issue seen right off is that these panels being a press board will not allow staples to be used to anchor the material to the wood. So we’re going to have to use tack glue and later hot glue just to see if the material can be held in place then mounted back in the van.
