Uncle Eddie to the Rescue

update image

In the knowing we’re not going to be going with factory size wheels with the same center bore as the van, we’ll be looking at having to order a set of wheel rings to make up the different size wheels on the standard hubs of the van. Contacting circuit performance, we order the correct diminution wheel rings. But at that time, it was going to take long to get and we needed something fast. Turns out we had a better alterative. Uncle Eddie retired from mill work many years again and as part of his retirement, the company he worked for gave him his own lathe. Belt driven no less. Plus several size blanks of aluminum. I was taking a chance asking Eddie but it was my old shot I had and right before we drove down to NC to pick up the wheels from my Nephew. Eddie was up to the challenge and without even seeing the wheels and based just on my specs, the milled these out in to time. The odd thing here is, if you’ve never seen how he does this, his old truck park with outside his basement door and window has a modified spool attached to one of the rear drive wheels. this spool and shaft leads through the window down into the basement. The lathe is totally belt driven
