Bought this to replace my Golf R, as I needed more space to carry people, stuff and our dog. Wanted something that would be reliable, not depreciate very much and was fairly analog. It also had to weigh enough for me to take advantage of depreciation laws with my business. So as much as I really wanted an E63 AMG wagon, it was actually cheaper to buy this instead. I found it lightly used, with 20k miles. The previous owner had added the ARB skid plates, Safari snorkel and a set of Tundra wheels with mudders. I immediately sold the Tundra wheels and put on TRD Rock Warrior wheels with AT tires, plus some protection stuff like WeatherTech mats and Escape Gear seat covers. Also removed the 3rd row seats as I’ll never use them. So far it’s been a great SUV for us.
