Fresh from the back of Patrick’s Barn is Qua-Z. Yes it was originally built by Andrew Nelson for the GRM Challenge, and yes Patrick Guzowski did change a WHOLE lot of the carwhile in his care but NOW it’s Mofos time to burn rubber in the wee beastie. Changes: Summit fuel system with -10an inlet and pre filter, 380lph pump, -8an feed to the second filter and regulator and then -6an from there to the intake. A set of 15x9 Wannabe Watanabes in a proper antique gold with a machined lip currently hold a set if 225/45r15 road tires. “Road tires on a race car?” Yes Billy, indeed. She’s headed all the way back TO STREET DUTY! That now healthy cammed 5.3L, 4L60e and 3500 stall converter spin a modified Z differential and push the cool black Jegs racing seats attached to the modified floor to speed quite rapidly. The dashboard has been replaced with some flashy stuff scavenged from an aluminum wire protection cover and some creative use of old leather material and there’s now a digital dash and GPS system that links to an Escort 360MAX radar detector. Tunes from Pioneer are processed through CT Sounds amplifiers and equalizer and pump 1900 watts of sound into two sets of CT Sounds Meso components and a pair of CT Sounds Tropo subwoofers. No it is not Andrew’s or Patrick’s old race car any longer. Soon a Tractor Tangerine over Tan version of Bob Sharp’s vintage paint scheme will be applied over the fiberglass hood and fenders as well as what’s left of this 2400lb rocket.
