1989 Ford Festiva

1989 Festiva Built for the $2009 Challenge. Who are we kidding, it started out as a $2008 Challenge project that got delayed due to too much beer and too little accomplishment. Car was bought from disputing friends (who nuther story) with a poorly done BP swap using the stock Festiva auto trans and a few missing mounts…. What’s been done: Engine/DT -1.8L BP from a ‘94 Escort GT -Capri XR2 trans/axles -Custom mounts all around using fox body mustang steering rack bushings to keep things cheap -Miata ebay turbo manifold with adapter for a $30 Mitsu T25 -Stock MKIII Supra IC piping, eclipse blow-off valve, modified SRT4 intercooler Suspension/Brakes -Aspire suspension/brake swap off a ‘95 we picked up for $75 and later sold for $250 sitting on Harbor Freight moving dollies with no suspension under it -$40 ebay coilovers for a Honda Civic -Old dry-rotted 205 Hoosiers on spray painted 14s Management, Interior etc. -Megasquirt ‘n Spark with $9 MKIII supra 440cc injectors -MKIII Supra stock fuel pump -GM boost soleniod to switch between stock WG pressure and a Home Depot MBC -Stripped interior with a $30 Craigslist racing seat -Sweet Autometer boost gauge and multiple switches to make things shut off that wouldn’t before That’s it for now, car will be for sale after the $2009 Challenge!
