Like I need something else to make me feel stupid. The last half of my racing season my Mirage just didn’t seem to have the power it should, sure there are over 200,000 miles on it, but still… time for a rebuild? before i could even shop for a replacement engine (it’s my daily driver), the trans went bad, and while pulling that out I noticed the air filter seemed a little heavy. Yep it was nearly clogged completely. After the Transmission was replaced, I spent the next day cleaning, drying and reoiling my filter, and hey! more power and the MPG was back up from 19 to 38. Next maybe the fuel filter?
