Purists, Schmurists! Let's hear that rumble!
When your wife says “you know, I’d really like an MGB GT with that V8 rumble”, you don’t ask questions. So here it is. It’s a rust-free California blue plate special, just waiting for me to upset the purists. The plan was to get the car sorted out (more or less), then heave a Ford 302 into the engine bay. “I’m not chasing massive horsepower and all the expense and trouble that goes with it, just giving the car a character change.” At least, that’s what I originally said. I think you have the coolest collection on the board, how do you do it?
So what's the rumble going to be? Small block Chevy? Windsor Ford? Nailhead Buick? AMC 401? LS1?
This is an almost perfect V8 candidate. The world's not losing a concours early 70s BGT, it's gaining a Badass GT.
You have all the cool toys. Another, "Can't wait to see it when its done", project.
