Jul 25, 2011 update on MilesWilson's 1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Future Plans

Thanks to my luck at the Autocross course yesterday I came within six tenths of a friend and fellow auto-crosser Alex, running a “faster,” (or at least I think so) Miata with a wider, lighter wheel/tire combination.

Now one of the things with this car is that the drivers side seat is disappearing out from under me. The base and bolster have torn and the seat covers only mask the problem. Alex is offering a festival of parts including some beautiful leather seats that were custom fit to a 99’ miata out of a Gen2 RX-7.

He is selling the parts because he is most likely going to defect to an S2000 in order to be more competitive in the STR class locally. Possible options and investments for the car include: new custom-fit driver and passenger seats, front air dam, Enkei RPF-1 15x7 rims (9.5lbs!), and a Hard Top to match the car. I know a few of these items are a definate WANT. I will inform of the details and more info if things go well. :]

Also, I am considering doing rear bearings: wheel bearings and input shaft bearing. I might check the forums for more advice on this.
