2007 Mini Cooper Sidewalk Convertible

This car was ordered by my g/f and me. When she bought her ‘03 MINI, she was lucky to find exactly what she wanted on the showroom floor, but always felt she missed out on some the ‘ordering experience’ of buying a MINI. She always wanted a convertible… I always wanted a MINI to drive during our MINI runs… so we decided to pull the trigger and order “Dougal”. For once, my g/f and I had clear ideas of what we wanted the car to be and the ideas were more of less the same. Her ‘03 is blue with a white top. This car would be white with a blue top. The Sidewalk was chosen mainly for the brown leather interior. WE picked up the car in early May of ‘07, drove it home with less than 90 miles on the clock and proceded to rip the car apart to personalize it: Dash painted body color to match interior trim painted dark blue Custom shift and e-brake boots with embroidery to match the Sidewalk logo. blue driver’s edge stripes (inverse of the white stripes on her MCS). Chrome roll bar covers After about a year, the run flats were ditched for Dunlop Star Specs and a factory-painted aero-kit was installed with a modified rear MCS bumper. Sadly, the car is not driven much. Over 3 years after purchase, it still has less than 20K miles. The most use it saw was in 2009 when I ran it for the later half of the auto-x season (hence the pic).
