1962 Ford Cortina

Ex-ICSCC iTB champ from back in the day, basically picked it up as a roller, cool old Euro RS flares, cage in it, converted to coilover, my daughter and I are building it for her to go run…going turbo Pinto motor on E85, should be fairly quick but also be a pretty balanced starter. Lots of fiberglass, repainted screaming yellow(my daughter’s idea), should be ready in the spring. It’s done!!!! Going to the all British car show in Woodland Ca next weekend, then the Sonoma Historics and finally off to a trackday at Thunderhill! Whew…what a journey…

Gotta love a British Ford. Alan Moffat (an ex pat Canadian living in Australia for the past 50 years) did very well in one of those back in the early 60s. I havent seen a Cortina with arches but I think it looks tough any other photos?

Thanks all, I have a few other photos, just working on the fab at the moment. Engine/trans mount, firewall mods to make it all work. The cage, seat mounts finally all finish welded, fuel cell cage is done. Long way to go, hopefully the spring will see her out on the track..

RoadRacer 68 ? Would that be the year you started racing ? Love to see the old ones still getting out on the track. I started back in 1966 so these cars bring back a lot of memories. Please post more pictures of your build.

That is an ICSCC car. Very cool you're from up there. I didn't start there but this is where the car came from, and as I found out during the build, it won the GT4 Championship in 1987 and 1991 with two different drivers in the ICSCC. And it's done!!!
