Almost Braking

Thankfully, brakes are free in the Challenge budget because I’ve had to replace just about everything in the braking system. Anyone who’s messed with aircooled VWs knows what a pain it is to take the pedal assembly apart and It MUST come apart to replace the brake pedal return spring. I got it apart without much(several days of beating and lubing) drama and now it’s back together(with some beating and welding.) It’s been a pain since the aircooled VW shop closed up near me and several of the small bits I needed I’ve had to mailorder. Hope to have the brakes finished this week.

Starting breaking down the longblock to clean it up and get it built up to install in the car. Crank pulley was a bear to get off, took 2 days of beating, lubing and pulling. Have also broken several tin screws but it should be in one piece by the weekend.
