Everone I’ve worked around or talked with thinks that you cant or its to hard to put a 2.4L sohc from a ‘94 Galant into this Eclipse. I say, “watch me”! The main reasons for the swap are simple; The stock 1.8L has issues my girlfriends psycholigist would diagnois as “terminal”. Its sluggish, thursty for oil, has more miles on it then Mathusalas donky (or atleast more than the odometer says the car its self has). Its a 1.8 for goodness sakes, a.k.a. boat anchor. Yes, I’ll rebuild it, but only for something to do when I’m bored, and to either keep as a spare or sell. Maybe I’ll use it for a go kart. The 2.4L sohc I got simply for removing it from the Galant it was in that was destined for the salvage yard (I don’t want to hear about trashing a Galant, it had already bine cut in two by one of the owners, I think they were going through a divorce). Any way, I want the higher hp, torque, and the after market backing. If any one has heard of or done a swap of this type, hit me back. Gladdly accepting input.
