Vintage race car in the making. AKA, The Flying Teapot. This car is the “grandfather” of the Sprite, so it has a lot of familar design features (to me, at least). Stirling Moss began his racing career in one of these and James Hunt (“The Shunt”) used one as his everyday car when he was an F1 champion.

I fortunately attended the 1996 Monterey Historics, and the standout memory by far is of Stirling Moss and his Sprite carving perfectly neat 4 wheel drifts corner after corner in the midst of all the locked brakes, missed shifts, and clouds of pale yellow California dust stirred up by others mis-adventures.
