It never fails, when you are in a rush, something always goes wrong. In this case, about a week before the 2011 challenge started, I finished putting the engine back together. On initial start up, I got clatter,clatter….bang! So much for this years challenge. At least in this case the damage was not all that bad. Due to mister brilliant here not properly installing the timing chain, I bent a couple of valves. Fortunately I still had the old head and was able to use some of the valves as replacements. So now I actually got it running. WooHoo!!!
