Volkswagen Vanagon

‘88 Vanagon w/eurospec Golf GTi engine swap. 5 spd trans, lowered, Koni Reds, +1 wheels/tires. I’ve owned it for 18 years; it just crossed 250,000 mi. Three days ago it ran the Glenkhana at the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival. Can’t see it here, but there’s a faded, nearly unreadable GRM sticker on the side window!

Yes, I did 99.9% myself, including heating and collapsing springs (the right way), fabricated lower shock mounts to drop the mounting point and maintain susp. travel. Fabbed a homebrew exhaust w/ tube header, cat converter from a 1.8t, and big Magnaflow muffler. The exhaust kept blowing the fiberglass out of the Magnaflow, so after repacking w/glass twice, the last time I repacked using every stainless steel scrubby pad I could find in local grocery stores. Sounds great and doesn't blow out. The most fun is watching people's faces when we fly by at 85mph on the highway. They can't believe what they just saw.

Nice to see that I don't have the only "brick" over here. Well done!
