I located a ‘89 long block and am currently going through it. Going through it meaning new rod and main bearings and new gaskets. When I pulled the engine, it was caked in old oil and dirt. Ick.
The block is roller capable and I like the idea of roller lifters so I snagged a set of used OEM roller lifters and the hold-down hardware off another engine at the local pull-a-part. I have a TFS Stage 1 cam on order and will be bolting my TW 170 heads on this engine to replace the E7TE heads.
