My father had one of these back in the day and sold it for an RX-4. Unfortunately he did not keep either. Beautiful car and I love the color.

I've been after one of these forever. Actually, looking at your profile I think I saw this one on craigslist a while back, I very hopefully offered my Chrysler as a trade, haha. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/reader-rides/116/ By the way, I'm also 23, live in Raleigh, and a bike mechanic.
^^Spooky .^^ Gorgeous car. Was this the one featured on BaT, with the RAF roundel painted on the rocker cover?
These beauties had a very successful race history downunder, nice car
Nice! My first car (I don't count the '59 Chevy) was a '68 Cortina GT I bought in '71. Learned how to autocross in that car, and how to replace voltage regulators (sheds a tear).
Very cool car . There is one for sale with Escort flares on the prodracing website . I love the tail lamps . And these always look cooler bumperless .
It's true what they say about the green ones! Sweet ride! :-)
My first car was a 70 Cortina GT, that I had gotten in 76, Total rebuild. Was a blast...
weird gcassidy; My first car was a '68 Cortina GT bought in '72 that was autocrossed then stage rallyed to death; but not after 200K+ miles. I've grown to like the early car's style now; always liked the MkII better though - this example is a Great Car.
Super cool! More pics if you can. Working on an early Corty myself..
Nice car. Nice color I've owned a couple MK 1s. Super fun. Awesome ventilation by any standards, if it is a "Facelift car". I would like to know more about it and see more photographs. I happen to prefer the 1500 to the 1600, due to the shorter stroke and head design. I've settled more on MKIIs, but MK 1s sure look better. What mods do you have to make it handle better?
Well, I can tell you he bought the car from me in AZ way back in 2008(??). It was a roller in primer, and mostly disassembled. I had bought it in that condition in 2006, and it had been that way for some time even before I acquired it. The previous owner wanted to swap in a 2.3 Ford turbo, and I wanted to swap in a 5.0... neither of us got that far! Turbellion got it back on the road, where it belongs, IIRC with the stock drivetrain. Very cool today to see it pop up as a featured ride!
