"WOW!" is definitely an understatement...nice work!
This is the University of Central Florida’s Formula SAE car. Powered by a Suzuki GSXR 600, and weighing ~500lbs, it is a rocket. Entirely designed and built by engineering students at UCF, it is a one-off, impeccably engineered racecar designed for international competition. It features double-wishbone suspension with carefully calculated kinematics, 4130 tube frame chassis, electronically controlled pneumatic shifting, fully calculated and simulated rapid prototype intake, custom designed/machined hubs with centerlock nuts, and handmade carbon fiber bodywork. These are only a few indications of the level of engineering that went into this car. Lately we have been using it for testing and running autocrosses with to gain data for this year’s new design, as well as to train new drivers for next year’s competition.
