1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

Rebuilt engine with forged custom pistons, Eagle rods, Brian Crower valvetrain, ARP fasteners top and bottom, Cometic multi layer gaskets, ACL bearings, new water pump, front case and oil pump gears, new timing belt, tensioners and rollers, new throttle body bored and half shafted for improved air flow, new turbo built and ported by Forced Performance, ported O2 housing, 3” exhaust from turbo back, 4 bolt rear end. DSMLink engine management, full compliment of AutoMeter guages, Wideband O2 sensor and controller, 1050cc fuel injectors, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, converted to E85 fuel,17 Enkei forged Aluminum wheels, new interior, moss covered exterior because every time I fix ONE problem, it causes THREE other things to break!!!! $8000 down. $80,000 to go… Total of 2300 miles in 4 years and 2000 of them were done in a 3 day drive crossing the US where the turbo to manifold bolts backed out and seized (despite the graphite anti-sieze compound), the shifter linkage fell off the transmission more times than I can remember, and the engine shook 3 of the 4 bolts securing it to the transmission completely out leaving me to “modify” some Home Depot hardware just to make the last 200 miles…If I’d known then what I know now? I’d have bought something more reliable, like an Alfa Romeo… Will I ever get rid of it? NEVER!!! That would be worse karma than beating Mother Theresa to death with Ghandi’s decaying corpse to inflict this car on another human being! But when it runs right…:D
