Don’t you just hate it when your Porsche 959 is in the way of your tractor? That hasn’t stopped Olsen Motorsports from prepping their tractor for this year’s Rennsport Reunion. That’s right, there’s going to be an actual tractor race at Laguna Seca. Check out the video of their racing machine to get a feel for what a top-level tractor racing entry looks like.
The Extreme Performance Summer tire category is a favorite among racers–that’s what all of the 200-treadwear near-race tires are technically called. It’s also a category dominated by a few old favorites. Tire Rack just put a few newcomers to the test, though, in this short video. Is it the most exciting thing you’ll ever watch? Going to Holley LS Fest? So are we–we’ll be competing for Grand Champion in our project LS-swapped 350Z. If your interests are more towards track laps than drag passes, though, check out our annual Road Course Challenge.
What is it? We’ll let LS Fest explain: “The Grassroots Motorsports Road Course Challenge at Holley LS Fest places racers on track at NCM Motorsports Park in a competition for the fastest lap time. This segment was created for those hard core track rats who are looking for constant lapping to hone their skills. Lapping will take place on the 2 mile long West Course. The goal is five 20 minute sessions per day per driver. Cars will be grouped by skill level and instructors will be on site for novice drivers. This event segment is sanctioned by the USCA (Ultimate Street Car Association) whose primary purpose is safety, learning and fun. The Road Course Challenge is open to any make and model of vehicle as long as it is powered by a GM LS (or current generation LT) engine. The segment will be timed and various prizes will be awarded to each run group (novice, intermediate and expert).”
