On a recent episode of Grassroots Motorsports Live, we took a rare tour of the fabled basement that lies beneath Mazda’s R&D building in Irvine, California. There we explored a treasure trove of Mazda history: prototypes, legendary race cars and show specials. And yes, there were lots of cool Miatas and RX-7 rarities.
Okay, so it actually took about 10 hours from start to finish. A couple members of our forum community and a few good friends got together for an engine swap party over the July 4 weekend. You can read more about this ongoing project in its build thread.
